We came from different places, we came in every bus
We came to do the safari, that Robbo had planned for us!

We started altogether, at Colac’s Meredith Park
By Thursday we had assembled, though some came in the dark.

We got our bags and info, Robbo gave us all a brief,
With navigators all a-ready, we hoped there’d be no grief!

We drove the roads with caution, as some had lots of gravel,
Through Forrest and Carlisle River, a few “U-turns” did unravel!

Brown’s cows were all a-munching, cuppas were all in sight,
Cobden was a-calling, but was it left or right?

At Scott’s Creek we did settle, with Happy Hour on cue,
Thanks Wayne for all the movies, and now onto Day 2!

We all got up so sprightly, and the sun was out to stay,
To Timboon, Peterborough and Port Campbell, were the order of the day.

Some folks went in helicopters, some folks did a walk,
But on arrival at Beech Forest, there was surely plenty of talk!

The pub meal was sensational, whether curry, pie, lasagne or shanks
But to Robbo who drove us there and back, we say our hearty thanks!

The ladies did lots of dancing, the mens’ pool skills were arts,
The locals were all a-staggered, we’re really not old farts!

On Sunday bunny helpers were busy, so was our friend called rex
There were chocolates all around us, we needed a lie down and bex!

The otway fly was terrifc, the turtons drive was beaut,
The latte cafes along the way, were inviting and rather cute!

We set up camp at Moriac, as we gradually all arrived,
With tales to tell and words to speak, but all had well-survived.

The fire was lit and now we’re warm so laughter did all ring
As time was here to hear the tales (and crap!), about the new-found THING!

There was Chrissy, 2 Alans, Ian, Maree, Gleness and Sandra and Steve
Who talked and related tales about, the THING they did retrieve.

We all agreed, we’d had a ball and with 3 hearty cheers
Thanked Robbo and of course dear Julie, for their efforts over the past 7 years.
